1.1 - How to Measure Student Progress

This session reviews strategies for measuring student progress in order to determine appropriate goals, placement and services. The discussion includes how to assess progress with remote as well as in school instruction.
 
 
1.2 - COVID and Determining Compensatory Services

August 13th • 2:00 -3:15 pm EST

This session includes a definition of Compensatory Services, a review of COPAA’s position statement of use during COVID-19 and an accompanying FAQ document. Presenters will also touch on utilizing the State Complaint process to address denials of a FAPE and discriminatory treatment during the COVID-19 period.

 

1.3 - Police-Free Schools Movement -What is Happening and Why?

Tuesday, Sept 15th • 2:00 -3:15 pm EST

Miriam Rollins, The National Youth Law Center; Jessica Alcantara, The Advancement Project ; Laura Kaloi, COPAA Policy Advisor, Stride Policy Solutions

This session presents information on the current Police-Free Schools movement, including research and policy positions of COPAA and other national organizations. Implications for policy at the state and federal levels are also discussed.
