More Information
I am a retired special education teacher. I taught behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children with a range of learning disabilities. I wrote IEPs and provided Functional Behavioral Assessments. I was the head teacher for a Diagnostic Center for Special Education students in a multi-age classroom from K-8. I currently work for an insurance company as their Parent Advisor, which is as an educational advocate for all of Massachusetts. My experience reaches all areas of special education. I continue my private practice as well within a 10 mile radius of Arlington, MA. My passion is making sure children get the education they deserve, no matter what disability they might have. My passion is also working with parents to help them feel empowered as the most important educator in their children's lives. Much of my work is educating parents about their rights as a parent and how to navigate the special education process. I also experienced sitting at IEP meetings as a parent and feeling the emotion and frustration of people talking about my child.
